Excellent customer service, the staff were friendly from when we arrived until we left. The waiter recommended some delicious orange wine which went well with the meal. The food was very nice, we even got served a nice amuse-bouche.

Absolutely loved our visit here, for our 24th Anniversary. The food and service was marvellous and all the staff are so nice (and because i dont like cheese, you adapted some of the dishes, very accommodating). You made us feel very special, so thank you all

Absolutely amazing, relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff, not overpowering at all, but always there with a thorore knowledge. The food as you would expect from a ** Michelin restaurant is to die for...... We stayed in the 'Angus' cottage, it was unbelievably lovely, so quaint, clean & as you would expect, located 1 minute walk, was ideal, everything the staff did was amazing, the little touches, cards left, gifts etc made our stay so perfect, it's was more than I ever imagined, both myself & my Fiance had the most beautifully romantic & enjoyable stay & experience....I cannot recommend or thank the staff enough...,..thank you to the whole team

From the moment we arrived, The Hand and Flowers delivered an unforgettable dining experience. Every dish was a masterclass in flavour — each mouthful bursting with complexity and finesse. The attention to detail, presentation, and perfectly balanced flavours left us all in awe. Without exception, we all agreed it was the finest meal we’ve ever had. Yes, it’s expensive — but absolutely worth it for such an extraordinary evening. A true celebration of gastronomy, and one we won’t soon forget.

Stunning country style pub with the most amazing food and staff. From the moment we stepped inside, we were made to feel very welcome. We were shown to our table and a drinks order was taken while we looked at the menu. Unlike most Michelin Star places I’ve been to it wasn’t a set taster menu but we had a choice of 4 (of each) starters, mains and deserts. After we made our choices we were brought some homemade sourdough bread with 2 different butters and a lovely, fresh sausage roll . At no point were we rushed. The gaps between courses were just right. The table staff were very attentive and was always available when required and they kept the drinks flowing at just the right pace . Each of the courses we had was prepared to perfection, the flavours complemented each other and included some surprises like pickled cucumber (game changer) and squid lasagne (amazing). I chose to have courses that I probably would not have normally chosen to have and I wasn’t left disappointed. Even the buttered greens and mash potato, which i definitely would not have usually picked for my meal were amazing. Would I recommend the Hand & Flowers, 100%. Would I go back, yes definitely. Was it worth the money, every single penny.

I went for lunch along with my fiance as well as my Mum and her husband. We were all blown away by the quality of the food and the relaxed but still incredibly well organised and sharp staff. Three of us got the lunch menu which was 65 for three courses all of which were good portion sizes and delicious. The complementary bread was excellent but the whitebait was out of this world, salty and a bit smokey, excellent with a beer! I had the classic menu for 95 which was just amazing, the cod scotch egg was unique and rich, the pork belly was the best I have ever had and the rum cake was a nice and light ending to the meal. Even with the couple of drinks we had I thought the overall value for lunch was incredible and will be happy to come back next time I am in the area. They even let us go into the kitchen to see the magic happen and the kitchen staff answered some questions we had, which was very fun!
